A REVOLUTION IN CANINE ODOR DETECTION

K-9 Enhanced Odor Detection System (K-9 EODS) has developed and is marketing a revolutionary new approach to canine target odor detection. This system capitalizes on the remarkable capabilities of the canine and achieves detection accuracy and reliability never before attained in field sampling or any other security setting. The system is extremely flexible and may be configured any number of ways to meet specific needs. In fact, a subject passing through the system receives the equivalent of a full body scan.

General Overview
Subjects pass through a SCREENING ROOM where a continuous current of clean air passes over and around them. This air stream releases target odors from clothing, skin, hair, and other surfaces and carries that odor through vents or DUCTWORK into an AIR SAMPLING ROOM where a canine samples the airflow. In the event the canine detects a target odor, it is trained to demonstrate a behavior known as an "alert" that will indicate a positive finding.

In the OBSERVATION ROOM an observer monitors both the canine's behavior in the air-sampling room and subjects as they pass through the screening room over closed-circuit television morniors.. In the event the canine demonstrates the "alert" behavior, the observer will perform the agreed upon action, such as sounding an audible or inaudible alarm.
